Tilt Trailer Equipment and Custom Tilt Trailers
New tilt trailers from the Overbilt Trailer Company are in! Our 10 ton custom built platform carrying capacity tilt trailers are available in both a gooseneck tilt trailer and tag-a-long tilt trailer models with a standard platform length of 20 feet. Longer trailer platform lengths are available up to 40' in 2' increments for these tilt trailers. The trailer main frame of the tilt trailers is constructed of 12" I-beam, a high tensile material that's up to 38 percent stronger than mild steel. Tilt trailer cross members are 4-inch channel iron placed on 24-inch centers. The coupler on the gooseneck tilt trailers are designed for quick hook-up and release, and are also available with an optional "Jr. fifth wheel." The towing ring on the tongue of the tagalong tilt trailers has a 30-ton rating and is designed for quick placement in three different trailer positions for ease in hooking up to various towing vehicle heights.
The trailer running gear on the tilt trailers is dual tandem with 44-inch axle spacing to qualify the tilt trailer as a tandem tilt trailer.
The 20' tilt trailer platform is designed to tilt with a person weighing just 150 lbs. walking on it towards the rear of the tilt trailer. The self actuating hydraulic cylinder will start the tilting action the moment pressure is applied to the rear of the tilt trailer platform.
A standard feature on these Overbilt Tilt Trailers is the (2) two speed landing gear with a lifting capacity of 50,000 pounds. We use two for better trailer stability.
The braking system on the tilt trailers feature 8-wheel braking power with choice of straight air, air over hydraulic, vacuum over hydraulic, or electric.
Eight hole hubs with taper rolling bearing parts provide maximum load support for the tilt trailers. The tilt trailers include slipper spring suspension with multiple-type leaves and 5" tubular high-yield axle beam with oil bath hubs.
The tilt trailer wheels are Budd 8 bolt, 6.75 x 16.5 dual disk with 9.50 x 16.5 trailer truck tires. The tilt trailer tires create less road heat than ordinary tires. With less road contact on the tread and therefore less heat, tires last longer. Michelin trailer tires are available.
Tilt trailers come equipped with a Betts sealed lighting system that's vapor proof and recessed for maximum protection that includes all DOT required lights for tilt trailers.
